Dr. Renato Miyadahira

Dr. Renato Miyadahira is an accomplished orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery. He earned his medical degree from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) and completed his residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Fernandinho Simonsen Pavilion – Santa Casa de São Paulo, followed by advanced training in shoulder and elbow surgery. Dr. Miyadahira is a recognized member of several prestigious medical societies, including the Brazilian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SBOT), the Brazilian Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SBCOC), the Latin American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SLAHOC), and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). He has extensive professional experience, serving as a member of the Shoulder and Elbow Team at Sírio-Libanês Hospital, the Orthopedic Team at Vila Nova Star Hospital, and other renowned institutions. Additionally, Dr. Miyadahira worked as a Surgeon Assistant and member of Dr. Sergio L. Checchia’s team, the former director of the International Board of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (IBSES), gaining invaluable expertise and insights from one of the leading figures in the field. Dr. Miyadahira has also completed international update courses in cadaver labs, further solidifying his expertise in surgical techniques and patient care. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Miyadahira is actively involved in research, focusing on biomechanics, surgical innovation, motion analysis, and strategies to enhance patient rehabilitation. His academic contributions include award-winning poster presentations at major conferences and publications in both national and international journals. Currently, Dr. Renato Miyadahira serves as a Research Fellow, contributing to advancements in the field of shoulder and elbow surgery through his research and clinical expertise.


Dr. Matheus Vilela, MD, MSc

Dr. Matheus Vilela is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle surgery. He graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil and completed both his residency and fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Unimed-BH Hospital. He holds a Master’s degree in Medical Sciences from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil with a research focus on ankle fractures and biomechanics. With a strong passion for sports, Dr. Vilela has always been drawn to the dynamic field of sports medicine. He served for five years as an orthopedic surgeon in the Brazilian Air Force, where he treated a variety of musculoskeletal injuries and contributed to the health and performance of military personnel. Dr. Vilela has made significant contributions to the training of orthopaedic surgeons as a preceptor in a residency program in Florianópolis, Brazil. He is an active member of the Brazilian Society of Orthopaedics (SBOT) and the Brazilian Association of Foot and Ankle Medicine and Surgery (ABTPé), and an international member of MIFAS (Minimally Invasive Foot and Ankle Society). In 2024, he was awarded the prestigious Jorge Paulo Lemann Scholarship in Biomechanics and Orthopedics through the RUSH IBTS International Fellowship Program at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. During this fellowship, Dr. Vilela works with top specialists and an interdisciplinary team in clinical, surgical, and research settings. His primary interest is in advancing research in foot and ankle disorders, biomechanics, motion analysis, and cartilage restoration to improve the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries.
