Matija
Hello everyone! My name is Matija Simic. About a year ago, I had a PCL reconstruction with Dr. Chahla for an injury that occurred while snowboarding on February 26, 2021. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get surgery at first, but after some time the aching and instability in my knee was too much to bear. Prior to surgery I knew that I still had a year of collegiate swimming ahead of me and I wanted to be at my best athletic ability. Dr. Chahla informed me that it would be in my best interest to get a complete reconstruction of my PCL if I wanted to fulfill my wish of swimming. I got the surgery on August 3rd, 2021. I am very happy that I decided to follow through with it. After about 6 months of physical therapy, I was able to walk normally on my knee again (without any brace) and even made it to my championship swim meet. I managed to swim personal bests and felt that I truly regained strength and mobility in my knee. I continued physical therapy for 3 months after that and now feel like a new man. I cannot thank Dr. Chahla enough for his amazing work, as it has made my life so much better.
