Whitney
In 2023, Whitney presented to our office after suffering a knee injury while in the midst of training for an ultra race. As she was completing a lateral jump during one of her training sessions, she felt a painful pop in the back of her knee. She continued to experience knee pain and swelling, and after obtaining an MRI with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, was diagnosed with a medial meniscus root tear by Dr. Chahla. Whitney, determined to continue competing at an elite level, elected to proceed with a meniscus root repair with Dr. Chahla in August of 2023. After committing herself to dedicating her time and energy towards her recovery, Whitney’s hard work has finally paid off. Now, at the age of 46 years old, Whitney is back to competing—better and stronger than ever! As 2025 begins, Whitney reflects:
“Last year at this time I was just ditching my brace. Yesterday I competed in Las Vegas in my 4th Hyrox race pushing men’s weight and finishing 1:43. Thank you for getting me not back to where I was, but stronger and more confident!”
